The Kills - The World Exclusive

World Exclusive - The truth about The Kills.
Well, this is quite exciting. We can today exclusively disclose that Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince of The Kills have actually been leading a double life. The true and shocking identity that The Kills have been trying to keep under wraps until very recently can now be revealed. Alison Mosshart & Jamie Hince are also in fact those darlings of bluegrass Gillian Welch & David Rawlings. This cunning deception has allowed this multi talented twosome to maintain two completely different careers simultaneously - double the career double the mula, sweet. "BOLLOCKS!" I hear someone shout in the general direction of my open skylight, "bollocks yourself", I reply, here are the irrefutable facts:

Gillian Welch & Allison Mosshart both play guitar and sing.
David Rawlings & Jamie Hince both play guitar and sing, occasionally.
Gillian Welch & Allison Mosshart both stand on the left hand side of the stage.
David Rawlings & Jamie Hince both stand on the right side of the stage.
Gillian Welch & Allison Mosshart have never appeared on the same stage at the same time.
David Rawlings & Jamie Hince have never appeared on the same stage at the same time.
Gillian Welch & David Rawlings have never appeared on the same stage at the same time with Allison Mosshart & Jamie Hince.

Coincidence, I think not.
However over the last year we believe The Kills have actually been leaving clues to their true identity.
See the subliminal message clearly spelt out in the titles of their 2008 highly acclaimed "Midnight Boom" album:

"Black Balloon",
"Hook and
Line",
"
U.R.A. Fever"
M.
E.X.I.C.O."
"Tape Son
g"
"Cheap and Chee
rful"
"Alph
abet Pony"
"La
st Day of Magic"
"What New York U
sed to Be"

In the pictures below, even though great strides have been made by The Kills to disguise themselves using the talents of ex-Hollywood now top freelance makeup artist Frank Sphincter, what can't be disguised is that Hince's aka Rawlings's guitars are at exactly the same degree of elevation.

Finally and most damning of all we have been informed by sources we are not at liberty at this time to disclose, that on their forthcoming "Black Balloon" ten inch ep, due for release on the 23rd March and available for pre-order on the Domino Records website. That during the intro, when played backwards at 78 rpm Jamie Hince can almost imperceptibly be heard to say "I am David Rawlings" and Alison Mosshart likewise whispers "I am Gillian Welch". I for one will certainly be checking this out.

Thanks Jimbo for the SP on this one, I've left the single as promised in the usual place, West Park Gents toilets cubicle two, I had to leave it behind the cistern this time, the cistern itself was chock full of plastic bags filled with what looked like Ajax. Anyway good luck.
